Thoughts from our Pastor

Waiting
“Anyone who is too busy for prayer is busier than God ever intended
they should be.”

Advent is a time to “wait on the Lord.” God’s word teaches us the benefit of getting off the
“treadmill of busy-ness” in order to properly prepare for the celebration of Jesus’ birth. Begin each day with a restful period of prayer and devotion. Remember the miracles God has accomplished in your life. Practice joy in social interactions. Simplify your schedule. Be a special blessing to someone every day. “Waiting on the Lord” is stress-free and strength-renewing.

Gifts
“The way to make your children miserable is to satisfy all their desires.”

God promised to supply our needs not our wants. Christmas is all about giving not getting. Our world needs more love, hope, and peace not more apathy, fear, and business. Our families need time together for sharing not time apart for ignoring. God gave a piece of himself the first Christmas. Give a piece of yourself this Christmas.

Others
“Love is preferring to store your money in the stomachs of the needy
rather thanin a purse.”

Christmas is for all God’s children to embrace each other with the love of the Christ-child.
Children of the street are beaten, used with no place left to go and no one who cares about them. God’s heavenly sign is Christ, the hope-for-peace-Child. We are the
wise-child/ faith-child who knows the Joy in store. This year, let the day arrive when Christmas comes for everyone, everyone alive.

Blessings,
Pastor Joe
